2.3

Electrical System

All areas of the airport are equipped with a 400/230 V AC electrical system unless otherwise specified.

Backup power units are available for FLE, providing electricity to users if the main electrical system fails. In the event of a power outage, the backup power unit kicks in within 30 seconds. Operators must account for this disruption with backup power supplies to bridge the gap for equipment that cannot tolerate power loss.

Electrical systems and wiring within the operator's space, excluding basic systems (such as basic lighting, emergency systems, surveillance cameras, and sound systems of the terminal), are owned and the responsibility of the operator.

Any changes to the electrical system:

  • Must be carried out by a licensed electrical contractor.
  • Are subject to approval by Isavia, see section 2.11 Changes to Spaces.

It is important to remember that overloaded electrical circuits can affect the electrical system and cause fire hazards. Isavia provides assistance and information to operators if there are uncertainties or questions regarding the operation of electrical systems.

Operators do not have permission to install anything in common areas within KEF.

When parties take over new spaces, Isavia provides the electrical supply to the space. Tables and other equipment are the responsibility of the operator.
See the attached electrical standard, along with requirements for the Janitza meter in the table.

Isavia has the following electrical standard that must be followed when making changes or installing new electrical systems.

Low voltage - standard requirements description.

2.3.1

Electrical Appliances

When selecting electrical appliances, water- and energy-efficient devices and equipment should be chosen. Appliances must be labeled with the European Union Energy Label, and efforts should be made to use devices in the highest energy efficiency class.

Operators must follow the manufacturer's guidelines for handling the equipment/devices they use in their operations. Any damaged equipment must be taken out of service, repaired, or not used again until it has been fixed.

2.3.2

Electrical Safety

Any contact with electricity (electric shock, jolt) must be reported to Isavia, see section 2.11.4 Incident Reporting.

Electricians working on behalf of the operator must fully comply with Isavia's applicable regulations for work in Isavia areas. The Isavia contact person provides operators with information about the applicable regulations, and they must request the current regulations before starting work.
